What are Iron-Mills made from?
Our mills are crafted from high-quality materials chosen for durability and long-term performance.
If you're looking for a specific material (e.g. the body, internal grinding components, fixings, or coating), contact us and we’ll confirm the exact specification for your model.
Are your grinders suitable for salt and pepper?
Yes — our mills are designed for everyday seasoning. For best results, use:
- Dry salt crystals (avoid wet salt / brine salt)
- Whole peppercorns (black, white, green, or mixed peppercorns)
If you’re unsure which salt or peppercorns are suitable, tell us what you’re using and we’ll advise.
Do the mills come as a set or can I buy one?
You can purchase as a set or individually, depending on the product listing. If you’re building a mixed-colour set or replacing one mill, you can absolutely do that.
Are the colours/powder coat finishes identical in real life?
We do our best to represent colours accurately, but screens and lighting can affect how a finish looks.
If you’re deciding between two colours, send us the names you’re considering and we’ll help you choose based on the “real-world” look (warm/cool tone, matte/gloss feel, etc.).
Do you offer engraving or personalisation?
We don't currently offer engraving or personalisation. We can quote for bespoke orders, but we have high MOQ's.
Are the mills food-safe?
Yes — our products are intended for use with food and are designed with food contact in mind.

Your order typically includes:
- The mill(s) you selected in their own printed cardboard tube packaging
- Protective packaging suitable for shipping
- Accessories are to be added separately
